Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay Announces Andrew Duncan’s Appointment to the Board of Directors

The Duncan Duo’s Andrew Duncan brings expert marketing skills to the organization

Tampa, FL – July 5, 2016 – Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay is excited to announce that Andrew Duncan is joining their Board of Directors. Andrew Duncan, co-owner of The Duncan Duo, began working with the Board on June 15 2016, after previous involvement in fundraising activities.

“Andrew’s motivation and expert marketing skills will help bring awareness to our organization, potential new sponsorships and community partners,” began Julie Weintraub, President of Hands Across the Bay. “His passion and determination to succeed will help us reach our goals, not only financially, but also with inspiration and motivation to be the best we can be as an organization. He is a wonderful asset to our Board of Directors because of his kind heart and compassion to give back to our Tampa Bay community. We are extremely thankful for Andrew’s willingness to join Hands Across the Bay’s team to further our mission.”

In order to help families and to keep their promise to the community, Hands Across the Bay uses donations from supporters to directly assist families and other small organizations in the community. Gold & Diamond Source, Julie and Steve Weintraub’s successful jewelry enterprise, donates the cost of office space, supplies and salaries for the organization to serve the community. Without the financial support, both privately and through corporate giving, the organization would be unable to help so many families in the community. With fundraising  and partnership development some of the primary objectives of the Board of Directors, Andrew Duncan is an obvious choice for the Board.

“Andrew and his wife, Angela, are known for their charitable giving and acts in our community,” continued Weintraub,. “The last two years they both volunteered to dance in our annual fundraiser, Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars, which funds our mission for the entire year. Andrew went above and beyond to promote the fundraiser by finding sponsors and supporters to donate and vote for him online. He brought in the most online donations and votes, receiving recognition and a trophy at our event. With Andrew’s increased involvement in our mission and goals, we will be able to help even more families in the community.”

Hands Across the Bay uses a unique approach in helping needy families by identifying the circumstances that surround the crisis the family is experiencing. The team is flexible and creative in utlizing resources and partnerships to assist the families as they work towards independance again. These collaborations allow the organization to have an impact on their lives for years to come as they serve the families who need a helping hand and honestly desire transformation in their lives.
